The Witcher's MyAnna Buring Performs "Feather Girls" by Claire Dean

Greetings and welcome to WORDTheatre Weekly: The Short Story Podcast where great authors and actors meet! I’m your host, Cedering Fox, WORDTheatre’s Founder & Artistic Director.
This week, we’re bringing you a third story from our recent London event “Seasons of Yearning: Selections from Best British Short Stories 2011-2025”, edited by Nicolas Royle. This week’s offering is titled “Feather Girls” by author Claire Dean, and it was performed by MyAnna Buring. We'll kick off the episode with an introduction from Claire. But before we get started,
Please note that WORDTheatre holds the copyright to these recordings and no portion of anything you hear on WORDTheatre Weekly, our short story podcast, may be reproduced without permission.
And now, please welcome the author Claire Dean.
Claire Dean: My name’s Claire Dean. I wrote “Feather Girls” because I am fascinated by the folklore around bird transformation, and by the fact that very similar versions of these stories can be found all over the world. I loved hearing Myanna read this story at WORDTheatre, and I hope you will enjoy it too.
Cedering Fox: And now, please welcome Myanna Buring, who will step into Claire’s gorgeous story, “Feather Girls”.
BURING PERFORMS THE STORY.
You have just heard “Feather Girls” by Claire Dean, performed by Myanna Buring.
