Glee's Darren Criss Performs "Immigration" by Richard Bausch
Greetings and welcome to WORDTheatre Weekly: The Short Story Podcast where great authors and actors meet! I’m your host, Cedering Fox, WORDTheatre's Founder & Artistic Director.
This week, we’re bringing you "Immigration" by WORDTheatre favorite, Richard Bausch. This story was performed by Darren Criss, an award-winning actor known for his roles in Glee and American Crime Story and he just won the Tony Award for his performance in MAYBE HAPPY ENDING.
In light of recent happenings in our city of Los Angeles, we find this story, which highlights the whirlwind of emotions and bureaucratic challenges that migration poses, to be especially potent. Despite the forces that seek to divide and intimidate, we know that literature, performance, and expression are essential connections to our shared humanity. Our hearts are with anyone from our community that has been affected by the events of the past week, and we hope that this podcast serves as a refuge, however brief, from the troubling times in which we live.
